During NOTAM’d days of Warbird or Aerobatic Operations, the Standard Overhead Join and Dead Side will not be in use. To ensure these areas are kept sterile exclusively for traffic conducting non-standard manoeuvres, a downwind join must be conducted instead.
Please plan your airfield arrival to join at an ‘early downwind position’, at the circuit altitude of 1800′ QNH, as shown by blue arrows in the diagram above. Pilots are asked to remain to the North of Cann Common as marked by the blue circle.
As a noise abatement measure, pilots on the base and final legs for RWY 08 shall avoid overflying the villages of Compton Abbas & East Compton (as highlighted by the red circles) or using excessive power settings.
