Among them are working examples such as fire response vehicles\, featuring some daily work horses from Dorset and Wiltshire Fire Rescue Service\, alongside lovingly restored classics and well-used enthusiasts’ trucks\, showing just how versatile these vehicles have been over the years. The variety makes the display particularly special\, as visitors can see the evolution of the design while hearing directly from the people who own and care for them. Creating plenty of opportunity to lean over the bonnets\, swap stories\, and chat with owners about their vehicles\, restorations\, adventures\, and the shared passion that keeps these iconic Land Rovers on the road! \nLore of the Sky will be serving fantastic food. Sky high flavour where countryside charm meets bold barbecue tradition. Our kitchen\, powered by fire and smoke\, bringing you rich\, slow-cooked dishes packed with character. With menus featuring all the BBQ favourites and lighter bites to grab and go. The Smoking Barrels and the Horsebox Bar will all be open and keeping you refreshed\, while you stroll around the vendor stands. \nDavid Vincent – JLR specialist parts supplier will be onsite to discuss and cater to all your essential Land Rover items you need to keep your pride and joy in tip top condition. \nAll Sweets will be returning with a Pop Up pick-and-mix sweets stall\, for all your humbug and sugary jelly needs. \nLIVE MUSIC – Saturday 27th June will feature acoustic duo Deadwood & Whiskey. The sun will shine\, the engines will roar and history will come alive. \nTICKETS \nADULT (16yrs +) £15 \nCHILD (5 – 15YRS) £4.50 \nUNDER 5yrs FREE \nUnder 5’s are free\, but please book them a ticket so we know how many guests to expect on the day. \nPRE-BOOKED \nPICNIC BOXES FOR TWO \nPICNIC BOX FOR A FAMILY \nFollow the ticket link for these pre-bookable add-ons. \nCAR PARKING £10 – make sure to choose the same date as your tickets! \nOn the day highlights include vintage visitors flying in\, including a few from HAAF Historic Army Aircraft Flight. Please visit their stand raising money for Military Veterans! An array of invited military vehicles will decorate our paddock with their owners dressed to commemorate the day. You can expect to see Tiger Moth bi-planes\, Spitfires (Elizabeth and Lady Luck)\, North American T6G Harvard\, Chipmunks\, Beaver and Auster\, to name but a few. \nLand Girls and Boys will be bringing the retro vibe alive on D-Day\, as our own Lore of the Sky team will be given the opportunity to join in and dress up for the vintage festivities. The RAF Cadets will be lending a hand as event day hosts – they’ll be able to tell you about the aircraft\, point you in all the right directions and be a friendly face to help out with lost children or finding the way to the first aid base or nearest loos. \nDelicious food and drinks will be available all day courtesy of Lore of the Sky. Bunting will be hoisted high and Lore of the Sky\, The Smoking Barrels and the Horsebox Bar will all be open. Pop up pick and mix sweets will be visiting on the day\, for all your rhubarb & custard or sugar barley requirements. Blending nostalgia with the Great British spirit\, afternoon cream teas\, summer picnic boxes and feast hampers will be available. Washing it all down with lashings of ginger beer\, of course. \nVintage vocalist\, Sally will take you back to the 1940’s with some classic wartime hits and Shaftesbury Town Silver Band\, boasting 23 talented musicians\, will perform with the warmth and character that only a traditional silver band can. Celebrating the past\, embracing the present\, and showcasing the vibrant sound of Shaftesbury’s much-loved town band. \nYOU can be part of this anniversary D-Day.
